Dhriti Gobinda Dutta is an Indian Classical Tabla performer, educator, researcher, and cultural practitioner committed to preserving and presenting traditional rhythm traditions in contemporary contexts.
Trained in both Philosophy and Music, Dhriti’s artistic journey bridges performance, pedagogy, research, and cultural diplomacy. His work integrates classical discipline with modern outreach, making Indian rhythm traditions accessible to global audiences.
Dhriti has performed extensively in India and abroad, collaborating with musicians and cultural institutions while representing Indian classical music in international cultural exchange platforms.
He served as Tabla Teacher-cum-Performer at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre under the Embassy of India in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where he conducted performances, workshops, and educational programs promoting Indian music and culture.
With over a decade of teaching experience across reputed institutions, Dhriti has mentored students through schools, academies, workshops, and digital platforms. His teaching combines traditional Guru-Shishya pedagogy with structured modern learning approaches.
During the global pandemic period, he conducted extended online knowledge sessions and continues to guide students worldwide through digital learning initiatives.
Dhriti is a recipient of a Junior Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. His research project, “Sonorous Siblings – A Comparative Study between Tabla and Sattriya Khol”, explores rhythmic relationships and cultural continuities within Indian musical traditions.
